Mike Rollinson

Having married an Australian in Brisbane in 1992 and seeing how great the country and people are, Mike knew his future would be here. Working in London as a Financial Adviser, Mike arranged a transfer with his employer to Sydney and gained the necessary qualifications to practice in Australia. In 1995 a management opportunity was offered by MLC which enabled the family to move to Brisbane and Mike stayed with MLC until he was ‘head-hunted’ by Wilson HTM as their national Head of Financial Planning in 2008. Mike soon realised his passion was no longer in a management role nor as an employee and after speaking with a range of friends and colleagues realised there was an opportunity to establish his own business as a specialist Life Risk adviser and SME Wealth was ‘born’ in 2010. SME Wealth merged with PRP in September 2022.

Mike has a Diploma of Financial Planning from Deakin University, an MBA from QUT, and is a Graduate member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. Mike has also qualified as a member of the internationally recognized Million Dollar Round Table since 2011, where membership is only available to the top 1% of Financial Services in the world. He regularly attends meetings in Australia and North America.

As well as family, music is definitely one of Mike’s passions and he plays drums in a successful Brisbane-based covers band and also acts as a ‘stand-in’ drummer for a number of other local bands playing Rock, Pop, Jazz and Blues.

Mike also enjoys Mountain Biking and often has the opportunity to do this in Brisbane and even sometimes New Zealand with his son, James. Yes, Mike has comprehensive cover and James is insured with Child cover – well prepared for the unexpected, God forbid!
